Is It Worth Buying Xiaomi Redmi Note? Let’s Find Out!

Xiaomi entered the phone business in India around 5 months ago. At that time no one could imagine the impact that it’ll leave in this market because of the shabby image of chinese phones in our country – not even Xiaomi itself. However, things changed within a few days and people lapped up the very first device launched by company, dubbed Mi3. The phone sold crazily on Flipkart, thanks to its high-end specs and jaw-dropping price. Another device dubbed Redmi 1S followed the suite and like Mi3 its stocks also disappeared on Flipkart within a few seconds. Now it’s time for Redmi Note. Yes, it’s here and it’s yet another powerhouse packed with lots of features for a highly competitive price. Just in case, you have already bought this smartphone, you can find few RedMi Note flip covers here. For Rs. 8,999 this smartphone offers too much that you can’t find in any other device. But are its features really as good as the price? Is it really worth-buying? You’ll find out the answer in this article.

Is It Worth Buying Xiaomi Redmi Note?

Hardware:

If you were lucky enough to get your hands on a Redmi 1S even for a few minutes, you’ll learn that it’s just an enlarged version of that phone. Hardware and design may not seem truly impressive to everyone, but frankly speaking, you can’t expect more than that for 9000 bucks. The device is made mostly of low-quality plastic but seems solid in hand and provides enough grip due to its rounded edges.

Software:

It is based on Android 4.2.2 operating system and MIUI 5 user interface. There’s still no word on whether device will receive Android 4.4 update or not. This is yet another disappointment because today people are using devices based on Android 5.0 Lollipop while buyers of Redmi Note will be stuck with Android 4.2.2 only.

Camera:

In this area Note has little-to-no compromises. I must say that camera is pretty awesome for a phone priced at less than 10,000. The 13 megapixel rear-facing shooter and 5 megapixel front-facing shooter both are capable of capturing high quality macro and HDR shots. Quality of video recording is also decent.

Performance:

Performance has never been a problem with Xiaomi, and that turns out to be true with Redmi Note too. The phone is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor and Mali 450 GPU. 2GB RAM is also on-board to provide an insanely smooth and fast user experience. Related: Competitors of HTC Desire 516.

Storage:

The phone comes with 6GB of internal storage and expandable storage up to 32GB – So you won’t be disappointed from this department as well.

Finally I would like to say that Xiaomi Redmi Note is a great smartphone at this price point, but it may not impress everyone. People who don’t like any compromises in looks and operating system will be disappointed from this phone while those who pay more attention to performance, camera and storage will find this device awesome.
